Biography
Udayan Apte, PhD, DABT, FAASLD, is a Professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center and serves as Scientific Advisor to SciQra LLC. An internationally recognized expert in drug-induced liver injury (DILI), PFAS, and chemical risk assessment, Udayan brings over 25 years of experience in mechanistic toxicology. He has authored over 130 peer-reviewed publications and is widely regarded as a key opinion leader in liver pathobiology and chemical risk assessment.
Udayan has played a significant role in advancing the understanding of liver injury mechanisms, regeneration, and biomarker development, with contributions spanning academia, regulatory science, and industry collaborations. He currently serves on the U.S. EPA’s Science Advisory Committee on Chemicals (SACC), providing expert guidance on human health effects and chemical risk evaluations.
A board-certified toxicologist (DABT) and Fellow of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (FAASLD), Udayan has received multiple prestigious awards and has held several leadership roles within the Society of Toxicology (SOT), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other scientific organizations.
